Nutrition is an important part to a child’s physical and mental development. Our nutritional goal is to provide children with a balanced diet to support their good health and wellbeing. We offer a wide variety of tasty, kid-friendly foods to ensure children are getting the right amount of nutrients, energy, essential fats, vitamins and minerals they need to live, grow and learn.
The center follows the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) nutritional practices. Menus are developed within CACFP guidelines and with the children’s interests in mind. Their mission is to help safeguard the health and wellness of children early in their lives. The updated CACFP standards for meals and snacks served by approved Centers are based on the Dietary Guidelines for Americans and science-based recommendations made by the National Academy of Medicine.
Breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack are served daily.
Groceries are purchased weekly for fresher ingredients
Meals are cooked fresh every day on site
Cook maintains a current food handler’s certification.
Staff receive training on nutritional needs of children and on practices of sanitary methods of food handling, storage and meal service procedures
We work with each family to ensure we are meeting their children’s nutritional needs, expectations, food preferences or food allergies. We are a “Peanut Free Zone” Learning Center.
